You have addressed the object of your desires. You have a first date. How do you win her over and make sure she’s addicted to you?
I’ll let you in on the secret of the master seducer: humor.
If you can make a girl laugh and giggle, then most of the hard work of seduction is done. For what? Because laughing makes people happy—it releases endorphins in the brain that make us feel good. And we like to be around people who make us feel good (makes sense, right).
It’s also the best form of relaxation – laughing is known to lower your heart rate. And if a girl feels happy and relaxed in your presence on a first date, then your 90% there.
It’s natural on a first date for barriers to be in place—she will mentally screen you, check you out. It can make for a very nervous encounter on both sides. But with humor, we make her smile, we make her laugh and she becomes relaxed and open. And that should be your goal for a first date.
So, how should you use humor?
Well, I’m not advocating that you be a clown. Don’t go overboard, and don’t just memorize piles of jokes and reel-ins—if she wanted to go see a stand-up comic, she wouldn’t be on a date with you would she?
Some jokes are okay – get a good joke book, or look online. Find a handful of good jokes and memorize them. Throw in a slightly risky one or two if you feel like she’s warming up to you (but not overheated or Chauvin)
Joke about your environment
Tell him funny stories and anecdotes about your past, your work, your experiences. Prepare in advance and think about these things in advance.
Watch comedies on TV and rent a comedy and stand up comedy DVD. These will give you some funny sketches that you can reel off, plus they will help you “tune in” to being funny.
Remember, your goal in using humor is to make people smile, laugh and relax. You should be able to quickly assess what kinds of things make you laugh and adjust your humor accordingly. You don’t want her rolling on the floor, crying with laughter.
