So you downloaded the app Grindr, set up your profile and started choosing favorites. It was fun for a while, but now you’ve either settled down or are ready to move on with your life. So, how do you get rid of the app, delete your account and unsubscribe from Grindr?
Well, we all know that anything posted online can never truly be deleted, but by following the next steps, your account information will be permanently deleted, so make sure you don’t miss your “favorites” before you do so. The exact information that will be deleted will include the following; Account email address Grindr, Profile information (like your title, about, etc.), profile picture, favorites, blocks and chats.
But then how do you delete your grindr subscription, unsubscribe and log out of the application?
It is strongly recommended to cancel your subscription before deleting your profile; It’s much easier this way because you can remove Grindr your subscription yourself and email Grindr to do so (for Andriod users, Apple users MUST delete subscriptions themselves) and you can get a partial refund.
For Apple and Android apps (Note: You will need to cancel your subscription on the original device type/brand you purchased it on.) Check each of the following options and choose the ones that apply to you.
For Apple IOS (Iphone)
- Step 1. Open the App Store on your device
- Step 2. Tap Select to Apple ID to Show Apple ID
- Step 3. Tap Managed App Subscriptions at Grindr Xtra
- Step 4. Set Auto-Renew to OFF
For Android (If you still have the app)
- Step 1. Open Grindr
- Step 2. Tap Menu at Settings in Grindr Xtra Store
- Step 3. Tap Go to Store (this is where your renewal date is)
- Step 4. Tap Cancel My Subscription to Continue
On the computer – Andriod
- Send the following information in an email to Store@Grindr.com
- Your Grindr email address
- Email address and phone number you used to purchase Grindr Xtra
- The last four digits of the credit card used to make the purchase
On the computer – Apple
- 1. Open iTunes on your computer
- 2. Choose Store to Sing in for the menu bar
- 3. Choose Store to View my account to enter password
- 4. When account information moves to settings at the bottom of the page
- 5. Next to Subscriptions Click Manage
- 6. Next to the subscription you want to edit, click Edit
- 7. On the Subscriptions page, click the Stop button next to Auto-renew
- 8. Click Disable to confirm
Delete the app – In general
- Step 1. Open Grindr on your device
- Step 2. Tap on Grindr Mask to Privacy Settings
- Step 3. Tap Delete Profile to Confirm
You can also submit to the technical support team of Grindr a support ticket in order to request that your profile and information be deleted. Something to keep in mind: if you delete your Grindr profile and information using any of these methods, it cannot be recovered and you will also lose your subscription time.
Additionally, you will need to cancel your recurring subscription; Otherwise you will continue to pay for your profile even if it has been deleted. If you create a new profile, you will need to create (and pay for) another subscription. To delete your Grindr subscription AFTER deleting your profile account, the easiest way is to email Grindr and ask them to do this for you.
