Badoo is the largest online dating site in the world. Several thousand profiles are therefore registered on the site per day and some are simply bogus accounts. If you plan to have real encounters on the site, it is important to have the “verified” status. There are now several ways to check your Badoo account and the telephone number is one of them. However, it happens that you are unable to obtain this status despite the number provided. Find out the solution to this problem in this article.
Why doesn’t Badoo accept your phone number?
First of all, if you have not received the code for account verification on your phone within a few minutes, do not immediately assume that Badoo refused it. It may take hours before this famous code reaches you by SMS. You will therefore have to be patient to be able to obtain it.
If the site asks you to provide the number again, use the correct format. First of all, choose your country code. This telephone code is +33 for France for example. Select it from the drop-down menu to verify the account. Follow this number directly from your mobile number without the zero (0).

Other methods of verifying an account on Badoo
Having your phone number refused by Badoo is not the end of the world and you can still access verified status with other options.
Here are the other ways to check your profile on Badoo in case it does not accept your phone number:
- your profile picture,
- an account on one of the most popular social networks, including Facebook, Google+, Vkontakte or Odnoklassniki (similar to Facebook for Russians), Twitter, Instagram or even LinkedIn,
- by email with a Gmail account,
- or even through a credit card.
Steps to follow to verify your Badoo account with Gmail
Step 1. Go to your profile page and click the gear to access settings.
2nd step. Scroll down until you see the “Checked Status Settings” section. Click on it.
Step 3. Click the “Verified” button. Choose the option with which you want to validate your account. For example, you chose the Gmail verification option. Click on the Gmail icon below.
Step 4. Grant Badoo access to your Gmail account by clicking the “Allow” button.
Step 5. You will appear on the linked accounts page, and you will see that your Gmail account is now linked.
Don’t forget to do the same with Photo verification. It is now mandatory since the introduction of this authentication method on Badoo last year to avoid fake profiles.
